First Blog

Woke up at midnight, post from Janice to start a blog. ok!
Now what?
Well I am one of those widows with 7 cats in her bed, one Great Pyrenees Sauveur, one Basset Tavish and one fluffy football with legs Happy a poodle/Shih Tzu.
Realized it is very cold, and I was a pretzel.
Today was a good day of endless tasks of changing animals water, feeding, throwing them apples, hugging everyone, talked to my big white goose "WalkaWalka. She is so sweet, she likes to nibble on my face and mess with my hair.
It is always humbling to live here on Potter's Eden Animal Sanctuary. These guys have been through the horrors of neglect, abandonment and abuse. Yet here they step onto the ground of Eden where they are safe, happy and loved. This is a healing place for animals and people.
Elgin aka EllieBellie is a big ole white horse with tiny brown spots called,"flea bitten." He was on his way to be dinner in Europe but because of wonderful people his hooves hit Eden. Thin, sad,old depressed he was.But now he is so beautiful, something to look at. Has me wrapped around his hmmmhoovies,is ever so gentle to everyone and everything here. I always say you could have a picnic under him. He is much prouder, and is not embarrassed that he has to have his big nose in everything.
Anyone new who comes to Eden will have his curious eyes on them.My boy I get to share eden with is very loved.
I get lonely sometimes with my family all passed except my two cool adult kids, and their one son each, nicnamed by me, Tigerboy and Sprout.
It has been hard losing the two loves of my life. Ed a crazy, funloving southern boy, and Rick a introveted, musically creative, gentle but strong country boy.
I never in my life thought I would be widowed twice. Though Ricks body is here, he lost his true self when he had a brain tumor removed.
So I do my best to put one foot in front of the other, and rely on our creator Jehovah 100%. He never lets me down.
It is hard for me to imagine being loved anymore. Well except by ones with weird hair, feathers or fur. I learned that when the animals touch me,it is their creator touching me. Since I learned that it has not been so hard.
Am retired from rescuing but the times lately have been busy with needie pot bellied pigs, I lovingly call "Potted Pigs." A friends mom calls them that. haha
Today I though how I really need to let go and rest for awhile. Have someone else take the responsibility off my shoulders for a bit. That is very unlikely since there has not been a day off in many years. I LOVE this life, but want to miss it for a bit to come back refreshed.
Back to sleep, two am. sweet dreams princes and princesses.
