Potter's Eden is a retired rescue sanctuary. My very blessed life is full of crazy animals who keep me laughing. These guys were unplacable from being handicapped or geriatric, or were so damaged, shy, terrified, abused, depressed etc. when they came here, once they felt safe, were very welcomed to stay forever.
Most all the animals who came thru Eden since 1999, were adopted into very wonderful forever homes.
From Guinea birds who refuse to get out of my feed bucket, to looking across the street seeing my llama Campbell and his two sheep, ever so happy hopping and throwing their heads. Joyous becuz Estersue my 10 year old farm pig has again provided an escape from their pasture! Everyday she tries many t posts to see if the soggy mud has made them "liftable" by her strong snouter. Partners in crime, she then lets everyone out.
Elgin the horse, aka EllieBellie is happily munching the neighbors beautiful, grassy back yard.
Today was a typical day, a monday, pouring rain and wind trying to knock down all my chimes. Birdseed spilling out of feeders to the delight of Bob my deaf potted pig, and yet another Arnold potted pig who, after being rescued from certain death, loves the happenings of Eden.
I am always telling people,"ok I have made it so I have my own driveway, no animals in my space." Right, today I was out spraying off the reminders of two potted pigs visiting at my front door, four guineas and four ducks had left their evidence too. Can't help it. I love to open my slider and toss out the seeds my indoor birds throw all over. Of course this brings everyone to munch.
Since I slipped in the ice last week and busted my 8th rib and messed up my bod with bruises, I am doing my best to slow down. Hard to do when ya hear,"It is time to feed us now!"
Was a good day. All the critters have their needs, no one is sick or injured. My bed is full of four dogs and two or three cats, I better slide into my pretzel place.
